StackUp Grand Prix - Charity MK8DX Tournament

As part of Storm Rush Gaming's 12 Days of StackUp, we've teamed up with SRG, After Party, and Buddies for Charity to host an online Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament! Learn more about StackUp at https://www.stackup.org/

ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE SENT TO STACK UP

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

ROUND 1: Players divided up evenly into friend room lobbies. Lobbies play 12 races. Top players from each lobby advance to round 2.

Example:

• If 2 lobbies, top 6 from each advance
• If 3 lobbies, top 4
• If 4 lobbies, top 3
• etc.

ROUND 2: Top players from round 1 complete an additional 12 races.

GENERAL RULES

• 150cc speed setting
• Lobby hosts must have a stable internet connection (ethernet connection)
• Hard CPUs (in the event of a disconnection, the cpu replacing the player's points will be counted until the player reconnects to the lobby)
• Normal Items
• All vehicles, gliders, and characters allowed
• Smart steering is allowed
• Lobby hosts are responsible for sending scores to tournament operator (a screenshot is fine; include CPU points if needed)
• Track Repicks: repicking a track will result in a 10pt penalty if the repicked track is selected in roulette (if choosing random results in a repick, the penalty is not applied). Manually repicking a track that was selected by choosing random will apply the penalty.
• Ties: in the event of a tie that would determine who advances to the next round, a 1 race tiebreaker will be held for the players, hosted by the tournament operator.
• Tiebreaker Rules: - 150cc​ - No CPUs - All kart options allowed - Smart steering / auto acceleration allowed - Normal Items - RANDOM track selection
